Beech House is situated above Kendal’s bustling town centre, a short walk restaurants, shops and bars. Kendal is right in the heart of South Lakeland so it is the perfect location if you intend to walk, tour, enjoy the unique pleasures the Lake District has to offer or are in the area on business.
Kendal is known as the gateway to the Lakes with Windermere only 8 miles away, but it’s also within easy access of the Yorkshire Dales, the Lune Valley and the beautiful Cumbrian coastline. Kendal was home to Wainwright, whose books still inspire many a walker to explore the Lakes. However walking is not the only thing on offer there are many attractions, activities, events & shops. Kendal’s nationally acclaimed Brewery Arts Centre features live drama, music, film, dance and a whole lot more, while a good range of eating paces can also be found in the centre of town. There’s truly something for everyone.
The attractions range from the historic to the delicious! There is the beautiful arts & crafts house Blackwell, over looking lake Windermere or Brantwood the home of John Ruskin, best visited via gondola from Coniston. Activities are available here by the bucket load. The walks range from picturesque strolls to mountain scaling, the cycling is in abundance and if you fancy taking to the water there is canoeing, sailing, cruises or even swimming if you are feeling brave.
